Frequently Asked Questions

On Arrival

When you arrive at the Clinic, please come to Reception where you will be met by the admissions co-ordinator, who will deal with the necessary formalities concerning your stay.

Settling your account

We need to know before admission how you wish your account to be settled.

Our Administration Staff will gladly assist you in completing the necessary documentation and to begin processing a claim if you are insured. We will require a membership number if you are registered with a medical scheme.

Unfortunately the Clinic cannot be held responsible for the decisions of an insurer regarding individual cover. Where an insurer declines to meet the claim or does not cover the full claim, then the patient becomes responsible for the payment of the account.

Vehicles

In the interest of safety, you will NOT be permitted to park your car on the Clinic premises during your inpatient stay. Cars parked at anytime on the Clinic premises are done so at the risk of the driver. Cars are NOT protected by the Clinics insurance and may not be covered by your own insurance whilst receiving treatment.

Smoking

The Clinic is a non-smoking area, but there are designated outdoor smoking areas.

Alcohol and Illicit Drugs

You can appreciate that due to the nature of the treatment we provide, alcohol and illicit drugs can cause serious problems for patients. Crescent Clinic's rules regarding this are as follows:

  • The use of alcohol and illicit drugs is strictly forbidden within the Clinic and its grounds
  • Anyone caught or suspected of using may be reported to the local police for appropriate action
  • Anyone caught or suspected of supplying drugs/alcohol to other patients will be reported to the police and asked to leave the Clinic at the first opportunity
  • Visitors found to be supplying drugs/alcohol will be expelled from the clinic and steps will be taken to prevent them visiting again.
  • Anyone suspected of using alcohol or illicit drugs may be required to take the necessary tests (e.g. breathalysers or drug screens) and failure to do so will be viewed as a positive indication of alcohol or illicit drug use. The use of their of these may lead to discharge
  • Crescent Clinic reserves the right to discharge any patient under this policy and reserves the right not to readmit.

In your best interest and for your own safety as well as for others, we ask for your co-operation in searching you, as well as your belongings on admission. If deemed necessary, we may also conducted searches at other points of your stay.
